It is no longer news that a popular Yoruba actor, Taiwo Hassan, aka Ogogo, has passed on. The iconic role interpreter died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at age 66, after battling with stage four cancer.
Several Nigerians have paid tributes to the late movie legend, sharing how he impacted them, and how he will be greatly missed.
Actress Iyabo Ojo noted that although the industry lost a legend, heaven gained an angel. She added that Ogogo’s legacy will never die.
In her words, “This hits differently. The industry lost a legend, but heaven gained an angel. My deepest condolences to his entire family. You were a great man, my boss. Your legacy will never die. Adieu, o. Till we meet again.”
On her part, actress Mercy Aigbe stated that Taiwo Hassan’s impact in the industry will never be forgotten. She also thanked him for his contribution to the industry and prayed that God would forgive his shortcomings.
“Rest well, Sir. Your impact in the industry will never be forgotten. Thank you for the years, the stories and the legacy you left behind. May God forgive all your shortcomings and grant you eternal rest,” Aigbe said.
